Independent Claim

A method of producing anti-parkinsonism activity which comprises administering internally to an animal requiring said activity a nontoxic amount sufficient to produce said activity of a compound of the formula: ##STR3## in which: R is hydrogen, lower alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, hydroxyethyl or lower alkenyl of from 3 to 5 carbon atoms; R 1 is hydroxy, methoxy, ethoxy or alkanoyloxy; R 2 is hydrogen, hydroxy, methoxy, ethoxy or alkanoyloxy; R 3 is hydrogen, chloro, bromo, fluoro, methyl or trifluoromethyl; and said alkanoyl moieties have from 2 to 5 carbon atoms, provided that when R 1 and R 2 are both methoxy or ethoxy, R is hydrogen, or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt of said compound.
