Abstract
Abstract 6-Aryl-pyrrolo[1,2-a]imidazole derivatives, processes for their manufacture, pharmaceutical compositions containing them and a method of using them to lower blood pressure in warm-blooded animals. Representative of the compounds disclosed is 6-(2,6-dichlorophenyl)-2,3,6,7-tetrahydro-5H-pyrrolo[1,2-a]imidazole.

A compound selected from the group consisting of compounds of the formula: ##STR13## wherein R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 and R 5 , which may be the same or different, each is hydrogen or alkyl of up to 4 carbon atoms, and wherein Ar is phenyl, naphthyl, thienyl, pyridyl or furyl which is unsubstituted or which bears one, two or three substituents selected from halogen, amino, nitro, trifluoromethyl and alkyl, alkoxy, alkanoylamino and dialkylamino each of up to 6 carbon atoms and the pharmaceutically-acceptable acid-addition salts thereof.
