Abstract

Abstract It has been found that aqueous coating compositions comprising a blocked organic polyisocyanate and quaternary sulfonium group-containing resin containing isocyanate reactive groups can be electrodeposited. These compositions deposit on the cathode to provide coatings having excellent properties including solvent resistance, salt spray and detergent resistance, hardness, flexibility, and most importantly a resistance to yellowing, especially when used to formulate white or pastel coatings.
