Abstract

Abstract Amine functional urethane copolymers dispersible in water with the aid of a solubilizing acid are provided by copolymerizing (A) 5-75% by weight of an ethylenically unsaturated urethane amine free of epoxy groups and formed by reacting an epoxy-functional urethane in which the urethane groups are ethylenically unsaturated with a monosecondary amine; and (B) the balance consisting essentially of copolymerizable monoethylenically unsaturated monomers. These monomers preferably include amine-functional monomers to further increase the amine functionality.
