Abstract

Abstract A device for applying a constant force to a glass scoring wheel includes a pivotally mounted L-shaped lever arm having the scoring wheel rotatably mounted at one end of the horizontal member and an adjustable vertical member. A constant force coil spring biases the vertical member to pivot the horizontal member in a direction to urge the scoring wheel at a constant predetermined force against the glass sheet. The constant predetermined force acting on the scoring wheel is a function of the height of the vertical arm.
