Claim 1
Independent Claim 72 words
A method for increasing the sucrose content of sugarcane plants which comprises applying to said plants, from about 2 to 10 weeks prior to harvest, an effective amount of a compound of the formula ##STR2## wherein X is morpholino, piperidino, pyrrolidino or NHR, and R is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, lower alkenyl, cyclohexyl, hydroxyalkyl of 1 or 2 carbon atoms, or alkoxyalkyl of 3 or 4 carbon atoms.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 20 words
A method as defined in claim 1 wherein application is made from about 3 to 7 weeks prior to harvest.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 22 words
A method as defined in claim 1 wherein application is made at a rate of about 0.5 to 5.0 pounds per acre.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 11 words
A method as defined in claim 1 wherein X is morpholino.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 11 words
A method as defined in claim 1 wherein X is pyrrolidino.

Claim 14
Independent Claim 81 words
A method for increasing the sucrose content of sugarcane plants which comprises applying to said plants, from about 2 to 10 weeks prior to harvest, an effective amount of a compound selected from those having the formula ##STR3## wherein X is morpholino, piperidino, pyrrolidino or NHR, and R is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, lower alkenyl, cyclohexyl, hydroxyalkyl of 1 or 2 carbon atoms, or alkoxyalkyl of 3 or 4 carbon atoms; and the agriculturally acceptable salts thereof.
Claim 15
Claim 16
Dependent Claim 21 words
A method as defined in claim 13 wherein said salts are selected from alkali metals, ammonia, and lower aliphatic hydrocarbon amines.
