Abstract
Abstract In the hydrodesulfurization of a substantially non-metal containing hydrocarbon oil, the desulfurization is improved by providing from about 1 to about 32 volume percent steam in the gas phase of the reaction zone at a start-of-run temperature ranging from about 550° to about 750° F. The addition of water is discontinued at temperatures above 750° F.
