Abstract
Abstract This disclosure describes 5 new antibacterial agents designated BM123α, BM123β 1 , BM123β 2 , BM123γ 1 , and BM123γ 2 produced in a microbiological fermentation under controlled conditions using a new strain of an undetermined species of Nocardia and mutants thereof. The new antibacterial agents are active against a variety of microorganisms and thus are useful in inhibiting the growth of such bacteria wherever they may be found.
