Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 45 words
A method of limiting adverse carbon contamination in metals from graphite ware used in melting said metals, comprising coating said graphite ware with a suspension comprising Y 2 O 3 in a suspending solution consisting of water and an effective suspending amount of sodium carboxymethylcellulose.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 45 words
A method of limiting adverse carbon contamination in metals from graphite ware used in melting said metals, comprising coating said graphite ware with a suspension comprising Y 2 O 3 in a suspending solution consisting of water and an effective suspending amount of sodium carboxymethylcellulose.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 57 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said coating step is carried out by applying a first coat comprising 45-60 grams Y 2 O 3 per 100 grams of said suspending solution, allowing said first coat to dry, and then applying a second coat comprising 90-110 grams of Y 2 O 3 per 100 grams of suspending solution.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 18 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said suspending solution consists of water and 1.5-4% by weight sodium carboxymethylcellulose.
