Reaction products containing free isocyanato groups

Claim 1

A process for the preparation of an isocyanato-containing reaction product which comprises reacting at a temperature of from about -30° to about 250°C. in the absence of moisture, a Schiff's base having the formula ##EQU1## wherein R 1 is an n-functional radical and represents C 1 to C 36 alkyl, C 5 to C 10 cycloalkyl, up to C 14 aryl or aralkyl containing up to 3 aryl radicals substituted by C 1 to C 5 alkyl; R 2 represents C 1 to C 36 alkyl, C 5 to C 10 cycloalkyl, up to C 14 aryl or aralkyl containing up to 3 aryl radicals substituted by C 1 to C 5 alkyl; R 3 and R 4 represent hydrogen, C 1 to C 36 alkyl, C 5 to C 10 cycloalkyl, up to C 14 aryl or aralkyl containing up to 3 aryl radicals substituted by C 1 to C 5 alkyl; The radicals R 2 and R 3 may join together to form a 5 to 7 membered cycloaliphatic ring; and n represents an integer of from 1 to 3; with from about 1 to about 10 mols per equivalent of Schiff's base of a compound selected from the group consisting of diisocyanates and triisocyanates.
