Abstract A class of s-triazolo[5,1-b]benzothiazoles are disclosed and are shown to be useful for the control of foliage-consuming insects and fungi which attack the foliage of plants.

A method of reducing the adverse effects of foliage-attacking fungi which comprises contacting the fungi with an effective fungus-inhibiting amount of a compound of the formula ##SPC2## wherein R represents hydrogen, hydroxy, or methyl; R 1 represents hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, chloro, propyl, fluoro, isopropyl, bromo, or methoxy; provided that methoxy, propyl and isopropyl R 1 groups occupy only the 5-position.
