Abstract
Abstract Compounds of the formula -OCH2-CHOH-CH2-N-(CH2)n-N-CH2 ¦¦ R3R3 -CHOH-CH2-O- wherein R1 is allyl, allyloxy or chlorine, R2 is hydrogen or methyl, R3 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 5 carbon atoms or benzyl, and N IS AN INTEGER FROM 2 TO 6, INCLUSIVE, PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT WHEN R1 is allyl or allyloxy, R2 is hydrogen; and their non-toxic, pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salts; the compounds as well as their salts are useful as beta -adrenergic blocking agents and hypotensives.
