The process of producing a compound of the formula ##EQU76## wherein R 1 is benzyl or phenoxymethyl which comprises the consecutive steps of reacting a compound of the formula R 2 SLi wherein R 2 is (lower)alkyl in solution in the compound having the formula ##EQU77## with about an equimolar amount of a compound of the formula ##EQU78## wherein R 1 is benzyl or phenoxymethyl and R is (lower)alkyl, trichloroethyl, benzhydryl or benzyl and then acidifying the resulting mixture.
