Abstract

Abstract Methods are provided for acidization of wells which are particularly useful in deep high-temperature oil and gas wells. The methods include injection of an acid halide which upon reaction with water in situ in the subterranean formation surrounding the well forms two acids, one of which is a halogen acid.
