Abstract

Abstract A truck vehicle having wheels and a vehicle frame and an operator''s seat and a box. The seat and the box are pivotally supported on the frame, and they can be pivoted upwardly to expose the frame and the engine and the drive train therebelow. The seat has a back portion, and the box has a front wall, and the seat back portion and the box front wall are immediately adjacent each other in the downwardly pivoted position, and there are attachments on the frame for securing the seat and the box in the downward position. Also, the frame has supports for upwardly supporting the seat and the box. There is an assembly of a tail gate and a ramp on the rear end of the box, and this assembly can be placed in an extended position to form a ramp from the ground up to the box. A shift lever is guided on the seat and extends to the drive train for controlling the latter.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 214 words
A truck vehicle comprising ground engaging wheels, a vehicle frame supported by said wheels and including a forwardly extending portion and a rearwardly extending portion with both said portions respectively extending relative to the fore-and-aft axis of the truck vehicle, a prime mover on said frame for powering the truck vehicle, a drive train connected from said prime mover to said wheels for rotating said wheels, a steering wheel for steering the truck vehicle, an operator''s seat pivotally mounted on said frame forwardly extending portion for pivoting upwardly and in the forward direction of the truck vehicle, a truck box pivotally mounted on said frame rearwardly extending portion for pivoting upwardly and in the rearward direction of the truck vehicle, said seat and said box extending from their respective pivot mountings toward each other and along said frame and with said both terminating in upright portions disposed adjacent each other and thereby together extend over said frame, supports on said frame in respective abutment with said seat and said box for upwardly supporting said seat and said box on said frame, and releasable members connected with said frame and respectively being releasably connected with said seat and said box for retaining said seat and said box in their pivotally lowered positions on said supports.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 214 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 100 words
The truck vehicle as claimed in claim 1, wherein said frame rearwardly extending portion includes portions of two members spaced apart in the direction transverse to said fore-and-aft axis, and pivot mountings connected to said portions of said two members for pivotally mounting said box on said frame, said upright portions of sAid box and said seat respectively consisting of an upright front wall on said box and an upright seat backrest on said seat and with said upright portions being juxtaposed to be immediately adjacent each other and with only sufficient clearance for pivoting one away from the other.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 91 words
The truck vehicle as claimed in claim 1, including a shift lever disposed forwardly of said seat relative to the fore-and-aft axis of the truck vehicle, shift linkage connected between said shift lever and said drive train for controlling the latter, a guide attached to said seat and extending to said shift lever for confining the movement of said shift lever, said shift lever and said guide being related and shaped to accommodate pivotal movement of said seat without requiring removal of said shift lever during the pivoting of said seat.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 109 words
The truck vehicle as claimed in claim 1, including a shift lever disposed forwardly of said seat relative to the fore-and-aft axis of the truck vehicle, shift linkage pivotally connected to said shift lever for pivotal movement of said shift lever relative to said linkage and in the fore-and-aft direction of said truck vehicle and with said linkage being connected with said drive train for controlling the latter, and a guide attached to said seat and extending to said shift lever for confining the pivotal movement of said shift lever relative to said linkage while accommodating said pivotal movement of said shift lever when said seat is being pivoted.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 97 words
The truck vehicle as claimed in claim 1, wherein said box includes a combined tail gate and ramp assembly consisting of a tail gate pivotally mounted on said box and of a ramp member pivotally attached to said tail gate at one end of said tail gate to present an extension of said tail gate and to therewith provide a ramp extending from the ground and up to said box, and a connector on each side of said assembly for supporting said assembly in the extended presentation to thereby support the weight of objects on said assembly.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 47 words
The truck vehicle as claimed in claim 5, wherein said releasable member for said box is disposed at the end of said box spaced away from the location of said assembly, to thereby retain said box against the force thereon as applied through objects on said assembly.
