Abstract
Abstract A method for enhancing the durability of asphalt which comprises reacting with the asphalt at elevated temperatures a modifying compound selected from the group consisting of: 1. R-NCO, in which R is hydrocarbyl of 1 to 24 carbon atoms; 2. and 3. ETHYLENE OXIDE. and Y is H, Cl, Br, I, or -O-acyl in which the acyl group is hydrocarbylacyl of from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, with the proviso that when Y is Cl, Br, or I, X is H2; when Y is H, X is C O or in which R1 is H or R, X is H2, O, S, C O or
