Abstract

Abstract A plastic article is rendered essentially impermeable to atmospheric gases and other vapors by metallizing the wall structure of the plastic article with a metal to form a thin metal layer and overcoating the metal layer with a latex of an organic polymer, particularly a barrier polymer such as a vinylidene chloride polymer, to provide alayer of the organic polymer adherent to the metal layer.
