Abstract

Abstract Method for treatment of heavy oils characterized in that a powdery or granular alkali metal compound in the heated state is fed to the coker independently from the starting oil to effect desulfurization of the starting oil and to form granular coke, and the resulting granular coke is gasified with steam and oxygen or air in the fluidized bed gasification furnace.
