Abstract

Abstract An impulse relay is formed by a U-shaped frame structure carrying a coil unit on the central wall thereof. A cam follower and contact-carrying arm sub-assembly is carried on a first transverse end wall and a cam and ratchet wheel sub-assembly is carried on an opposite confronting transverse end wall. An armature is pivoted on the first transverse end wall and spring urged away from the outer end of the coil unit. The armature extends in a space between the cam and ratchet wheel sub-assembly and terminates in transverse extensions which form pawl carrying and locking dog-forming portions which engage portions of the cam and ratchet wheels sub-assembly. The pawl carrying extension of the armature carries a flexibily mounted member from which extends pawl and locking dog-forming extensions which engage portions of the cam and ratchet wheel sub-assembly.
