Abstract
Abstract A method is provided for making polyetherimides involving the reaction of aromatic bis(etherdicarboxylic) acids and organic diamines in the presence of a non-polar organic solvent, or phenolic solvent, at temperatures of at least 130*C. The polyetherimides are useful as injection molding compounds.
