Abstract
Abstract A galvanic cell, preferably a nickel-cadmium cell, employing a coiled electrode assembly whereby an opening is provided in the outermost layer of the separator of the assembly so that a corresponding portion of the outer face of the outermost wound electrode will be exposed for contacting the inner surface of the outer can housing said assembly with sufficient pressure to provide an electrical connection therebetween.
