Abstract
Abstract Catamenial tampons prepared from a hydrophilic open-celled polymer foam, such as a hydrophilic polyurethane, containing controlled amounts of from about 15 to 30 percent by weight of finely divided, water-swellable polymer provide a high degree of sorbency combined with a desirable automatic cut-off of flow through the tampons.
