Abstract
Abstract A catamenial tampon incorporating an absorbency improving agent which is a cross-linked polyacrylamide in which part of the amide groups have been hydrolyzed to carboxylate groups is disclosed. The additive is characterized by a high degree of absorptiveness and remains tack-free throughout its absorptive range. A method of making the tampon is also disclosed.
