Abstract

Abstract A high-frequency oscillator furnishes a high-frequency signal which is applied to the counting inputs of two counters each of which counts by frequency division. The pulse sequence derived from a determined corresponding stage in each of the two counters constitutes a first and second counting signal. The counters are reset alternately at predetermined instants in the cycle of the low-frequency signal. A phase shift is thus created between the first and second counting signal. A logic circuit connected to receive the first and second counting signals furnishing a third pulse sequence having a frequency corresponding to the frequency of the first and second counting signals and having a pulse width which corresponds to the deviation of the actual frequency of the test signal from the nominal frequency.
