Abstract Compounds possessing hypoglycemic, anticoagulant and diuretic activity are represented by compounds of the following formula WHEREIN EACH R is hydrogen, halogen such as chlorine, fluorine or bromine, trifluoromethyl, a straight or branched alkyl chain of from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, alkoxy of from 1 to 3 carbon atoms, or nitro, and each R may be the same or different; Y is a straight or branched alkylene chain of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms and is optionally substituted with phenyl or substituted phenyl wherein the substituents on the substituted phenyl are selected from halogen such as fluorine, chlorine, bromine or iodine or lower alkyl of from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; R2 is hydrogen or lower alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R3 is hydrogen, lower alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or halogen such as chlorine, fluorine, bromine or iodine; and n is an integer of from 3 to 11.
