Abstract

Abstract Desensitizing or immunizing agents are provided for treating hypersensitive or allergic conditions. Modified allergenic material is prepared comprising an allergenic protein or glycoprotein crosslinked intermolecularly or intramolecularly with an inorganic cyanate. The modified material has reduced allergenicity relative to the uncrosslinked allergen and has the ability to produce antibodies having cross-specificity for the uncrosslinked allergenic protein or glycoprotein.
