Abstract

Abstract A sieve drum apparatus for the continuous treatment of lengths of textile material held along their width which includes a sieve drum under a suction draft which is partially looped by at least one tension chain guided in a ring mounted to be rotatable about the sieve drum by roller means. The ring has a U-shaped portion for receiving the tension chain. In addition, rollers are provided in spaced relationship around the drum which are engaged in another U-shaped portion of the ring.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 136 words
In a sieve drum apparatus for the continuous treatment of Lengths of textile material held along their width, on at least one sieve drum under a suction draft, around which is partially looped at least one tension chain guided in a ring, wherein the ring has a portion U-shaped in cross section in order to receive the tension chain and is mounted to be rotatable about the sieve drum by roller means attached to holding means guided on threaded spindles extending outside of the drum in the axial direction, the improvement wherein said ring has in addition to the U-shaped portion for receiving the chain, another U-shaped portion having an inner portion and said roller means comprise rollers disposed in spaced relationship around the drum, said rollers engaging the inner portion of said another U-shaped portion.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 136 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 38 words
The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the rollers are each shaped as a wheel which contacts said another U-shaped portion of the ring with a peripheral surface, as well as at least with one annular end face.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 21 words
The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein further U-shaped portion is conically widened radially toward the outside away from the drum.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 29 words
The apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the rollers are rotatably mounted on said holding means by bearings which absorb both axial and radial forces applied to said rollers.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 58 words
The apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said sieve drum is disposed rotatably in a housing and said holding means consists of a moveable wall closing off a free space between the sieve drum and a housing wall or sieve cover, the movable wall being adjustable in the axial direction of said sieve drum by said spindle means.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 46 words
The apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said another U-shaped portion comprises a channel formed by two radially extending annular flanges and the rollers are shaped as wheels having a diameter sufficient to provide annular end faces that contact at least one of said annular flanges.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 24 words
The apparatus according to claim 6, wherein each roller has a peripheral surface that engages a curved web section provided between said annular flanges.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 52 words
The apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the U-shaped portion of the ring that receives the tensioning chain is formed by one of the annular flanges forming said another U-shaped portion and by another smaller annular flange spaced from said one annular flange, the flanges on said ring all extending radially outwardly.
