Abstract
Abstract Oil resistant leather articles are prepared by impregnating the leather with a room temperature curing organosilicon resin made by mixing (1) 1 to 65 percent by weight of a hydroxyl endblocked dimethylpolysiloxane, (2) from 15 to 70 percent by weight of a hydroxyl containing phenylsiloxane resin and (3) 5 to 65 percent by weight of a silane of the formula RSiX3 and thereafter allowing the mixture to cure. The leather is particularly useful for work shoes around areas where the shoes are exposed to solvents, oils or hydraulic fluids.
