Abstract

Abstract A contact fuzing system having an acceleration-responsive variable capacitor for initiating detonation. The capacitor is connected in parallel with a detonator and an electrical switch. One plate of the capacitor is resiliently mounted and arranged to separate from the other plate as the fuzing system decelerates. Upon separation, the voltage across the capacitor increases thereby triggering the switch and firing the detonator.
