Abstract

Abstract An improved laminated motor core for a linear induction motor utilizing gramme ring windings. The upper pole piece portion of the core is substantially smaller in width than the widest portion of the lower back iron portion. The cross-sectional perimeter of the back iron portion provides a minimum mean length turn for the gramme ring windings.
