Abstract

Abstract Water and a linear polymer in the molten state are kneaded in a high-pressure region to disperse the water minutely and uniformly throughout the polymer, which is then extruded together with supplementary water into a low-pressure region through an orifice, whereby a mass of fine fibers of excellent molecular orientation and rigidity and of hydrophilic character is produced.
