Abstract
Abstract A light reflector having, on a side away from that side facing external light rays, one light-transmitting plane surrounded by three light reflecting units in contiguous relationship. Each reflecting unit has an irregular nonagonal configuration in plan view and has an inner triple reflecting plane structure contiguously surrounded by an outer triple reflecting plane structure. The inner triple reflecting plane structure has a regular hexangle configuration in plan view and the central apex of this hexagon projects toward the outer side of this light reflector. One plane of the inner triple reflecting plane structure and the contiguous two planes of the surrounding outer triple reflecting plane structure constitute one light reflecting element. The apex formed by these three planes is directed toward the inner side of the reflector. The reflector unit is formed by three of said elements. The light-transmitting plane has a regular triangle shape, the three apexes thereof lying on the lines of conjugation between contiguous adjacent reflecting units. Such a reflector is superior in reflecting efficiency because that very little non-working area and can be made easily at a low cost. Moreover, the mold therefor can be applied to any known reflector shaping machine.

A light reflector comprising: an external side facing in the direction from which external light rays strike the reflector, and an internal side on the opposite side of the reflector from said external side and having thereon a plurality of light reflecting units each of which is nonagonal in plan view and which are joined to each other, and said internal side further having a plurality of light-transmitting planes each having a regular triangular shape in plan view and being surrounded by three of said light reflecting units, each light reflecting unit being comprised of an inner triple reflecting plane structure having three flat planes joined together at right angles relative to each other and an outer triple reflecting plane structure having three flat planes joined together at right angles relative to each other, said inner triple reflecting plane structure being positioned inside said outer triple reflecting plane structure with the planes thereof joined to the planes of said outer triple reflecting plane structure along edges, each of said light reflecting units having three light reflecting elements each of which is a triple reflecting plane structure formed by one of the flat planes of said inner triple reflecting plane strucutre and the two of the flat planes of said outer triple reflecting plane structure which are joined to said one of the flat planes at right angles relative to each other, the apexes of the triangular light-transmitting plane having apexes lying on the junction lines of the three light reflecting units surrounding said light-transmitting plane, respectively.

A light reflector comprising: an external side facing in the direction from which external light rays strike the reflector, and an internal side on the opposite side of the reflector from said external side and having thereon a plurality of light reflecting units each of which is nonagonal in plan view and which are joined to each other, and said internal side further having a plurality of light-transmitting planes each having a regular triangular shape in plan view and being surrounded by three of said light reflecting units, each light reflecting unit being comprised of an inner triple reflecting plane structure having three flat planes joined together at right angles relative to each other and an outer triple reflecting plane structure having three flat planes joined together at right angles relative to each other, said inner triple reflecting plane structure being positioned inside said outer triple reflecting plane structure with the planes thereof joined to the planes of said outer triple reflecting plane structure along edges, each of said light reflecting units having three light reflecting elements each of which is a triple reflecting plane structure formed by one of the flat planes of said inner triple reflecting plane strucutre and the two of the flat planes of said outer triple reflecting plane structure which are joined to said one of the flat planes at right angles relative to each other, the apexes of the triangular light-transmitting plane having apexes lying on the junction lines of the three light reflecting units surrounding said light-transmitting plane, respectively.

A light reflector according to claim 1, in which the extensions of the three flat planes of the outer triple reflecting plane structure meet in a corner which projects in a direction away from said external side and the corner at which the three flat planes of the inner triple reflecting plane structure meet extends toward said external side, and in which the edges at which any two of the three flat planes of the outer triple plane structure join are at an angle of 60* in plan view, relative to the edge between the two flat planes of the inner triple reflecting plane structure which are adjacent to either one of said two flat planes of the outer triple reflecting plane structure.
