Abstract

Abstract A dilatometer comprising a fixed beam and a movable beam which is pivotally mounted with respect to the fixed beam. The sample to be measured fits between one set of beam ends. The other end of the movable beam is coupled to the movable core of a differential transformer which provides an output signal which is a function of beam movement. The sample holding beam ends are enclosed in an insulated housing. The beams are disposed horizontally.
