Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 76 words
A METHOD OF NEUTRALIZING AN UNDESIRED CAST APPEARING IN AN ANODIZED SURFACE OF AN ALUMINUM ALLOY, BY SEALING SAID ANODIZED SURFACE WITH AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION CONTAINING A MONOAZO METALLIC DYE OF A COLOR AND IN A CONCENTRATION SUFFICIENT TO NEUTRALIZE SAID UNDESIRED CAST WITHOUT IMPARTING THE DYE COLOR TO SAID ANODIZED SURFACE WHEREIN SAID SOLUTION IS MAINTAINED AT A PH NECESSARY FOR OPTIMUM SELAING AND DYE ABSORPTION AND AT A TEMPERATURE BETWEEN ABOUT 180* AND 210*$0.5*F.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 16 words
A method as in claim 1 wherein said aluminum alloy is chemically brightened prior to anodizing.
Claim 4
Independent Claim 88 words
A method of neutralizing an undesired cast appearing in an anodized surface of an aluminum alloy, by sealing said anodized surface for about 10 to 30 minutes with an aqueous solution containing a monoazo metallic dye of a color and in a concentration sufficient to neutralize said undesired cast without imparting the dye color to said anodized surface wherein said solution is maintained at a pH between about 5.5 and 6.5 + or - 0.1 and at a temperature between about 180* and 210* + or - 5*F.
Claim 5
Independent Claim 88 words
A method of neutralizing an undesired cast appearing in an anodized surface of an aluminum alloy, by sealing said anodized surface for about 10 to 30 minutes with an aqueous solution containing a monoazo metallic dye of a color and in a concentration sufficient to neutralize said undesired cast without imparting the dye color to said anodized surface wherein said solution is maintained at a pH between about 5.5 and 6.5 + or - 0.1 and at a temperature between about 180* and 210* + or - 5*F.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 16 words
A method as in claim 3 wherein said aluminum alloy is chemically brightened prior to anodization.
Claim 7
Independent Claim 70 words
A method of neutralizing a yellow cast appearing in an anodized surface of a copper-containing aluminum alloy, by sealing said anodized surface for about 15 minutes in an aqueous solution containing about 15 milligrams per liter of a monoazo metallic dye to neutralize said yellow cast, wherein said solution is maintained at a pH between about 5.6 and 5.7 and at a temperature of about 205* + or - 5*F
Claim 8
Independent Claim 70 words
A method of neutralizing a yellow cast appearing in an anodized surface of a copper-containing aluminum alloy, by sealing said anodized surface for about 15 minutes in an aqueous solution containing about 15 milligrams per liter of a monoazo metallic dye to neutralize said yellow cast, wherein said solution is maintained at a pH between about 5.6 and 5.7 and at a temperature of about 205* + or - 5*F
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 16 words
A method as in claim 5 wherein said aluminum alloy is chemically brightened prior to anodizing.
