Abstract

Abstract A polymer-ligand comprising a high molecular weight water insoluble polymer containing certain covalently bonded ligand moieties is capable of selectively chelating cupric and/or argentous ions from aqueous solutions containing them and other metal ions. Exemplary is polystyrene containing the moiety WHICH IS BOUND TO THE POLYMER CHAIN THROUGH THE OXYGEN ATOM.
