Abstract

Abstract Water-dilutable coating compositions are produced by reacting a maleinized oil containing maleic anhydride groups with a resole to effect reaction between the maleic anhydride groups and the methylol groups of the resole. The reaction product of the maleinized oil and resole is then neutralized with a base to form a water-dilutable coating composition.
