Abstract

Abstract A method for cross-linking agarose or agar, wherein the agarose or agar is suspended and then reacted with a bifunctional compound. The invention is particularly characterized in that as the bifunctional compound a compound is used which contains two equal functional groups. These functional groups are chosen from the following: -COCl, -SO2Cl, and -N C S. The cross-linked agarose or agar is finally filtered and washed.
