Abstract
Abstract Non-flaming intumescent compositions are obtained by mixing a normally self-extinguishing intumescent agent with an amine having a nitrogen or combined nitrogen-halogen content of at least about 30% by weight. The amine may be aliphatic, aromatic, or heterocyclic but is preferably melamaine, a melamine derivative, or other cyclic compound.
