Abstract
Abstract A controlled release coating composition comprising an organic solvent solution of an organopolysiloxane and a solvent soluble polymer of a polymerizable unsaturated aliphatic dibasic acid or derivative thereof. Incremental changes in the proportion of said solvent soluble polymer lead to incremental changes in the release force of the coatings produced with such compositions. Processes for applying the new coating compositions are also described. A typical composition comprises a toluene solution of a polymethylsiloxane and a C18 alkyl vinyl ether/maleic anhydride copolymer in a 10:1 ratio on a weight basis.
