Abstract
Abstract Novel process for preparing pyridones via a nucleophilic substitution side chain reaction of halo-pyridones. The novel pyridones disclosed herein are potent anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-pyretic agents. Also included are pharmaceutical compositions containing said pyridones as active ingredients and the methods of treating painful, inflamed and fever states in patients by administering said compounds.
