Abstract
Abstract Coupling of the appropriate (S)-aspartic acid derivative with an aliphatic amino acid alkyl ester followed by hydrogenolysis of the protecting groups affords the corresponding (S)-aspartyl-(R)(aliphatic-) amino acid alkyl esters, which exhibit potent sweetening properties.
