Abstract

Abstract The concrete sublayer in a bituminous road or pavement structure is waterproofed using a preformed sheet material made up of a flexible sheet-like support (e.g., woven polypropylene mesh) having on its surface placed adjacent the concrete a waterproof pressure-sensitive adhesive membrane formed of a bituminous rubber composition, and on the other surface, a layer of bituminous composition to which has been added sufficient wax to render the composition non-tacky when cold, the wax-containing layer becoming tacky or pressure-sensitive at an elevated temperature.
