Abstract
Abstract A skid control system in which the magnitude of the brake pressure and/or brake torque is varied as a function of the magnitude of an error signal indicative of an incipient skid or excessive slip condition. The error signal may be established in accordance with the difference between the actual deceleration of the wheel and a desired deceleration so as to maintain the deceleration of the wheel at the desired level. Once a skid condition is encountered, the brake pressure may be additionally relieved to allow the wheel to spin-up to a nonskidding condition.
