Abstract
Abstract A smoking material is disclosed which consists essentially of a vinyl methyl ether: maleic anhydride copolymer or salts thereof, an inorganic particulate filler and optionally a second combustible material. The second combustible filler may be of tobacco dust, sodium gluconate, pectins, natural gums, or cellulose or its derivative. Inorganic particulate material serves in the capacity of a combustion modifier and reduces the total effective combustible material in a particular charge.
