Abstract
Abstract A hollow fiberglass bulkhead is constructed for submersion in a swimming pool. Two boxes open-top and open-ended are joined, a shelf is added, end supporting hardware is added, a bottom is placed on the box and the ends are closed and the box is then inverted to be installed in the swimming pool. Balsa wood plates provide rigidity and partial flotation while two end rollers prevent the bulkhead from becoming twisted as it is moved along the pool.

Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim
74 words
A method of constructing submersible bulkheads for swimming pools comprising forming an elongated open-top open-ended box of resin material, adding end-supporting hardware to the ends of the box, forming a transverse shelf along the length of the box spaced closely from the closed bottom of the box, adding a top to the box to close the open-top, adding ends to close the open ends, and inverting the box for installation into a swimming pool.
Claim 2
Independent Claim
74 words
A method of constructing submersible bulkheads for swimming pools comprising forming an elongated open-top open-ended box of resin material, adding end-supporting hardware to the ends of the box, forming a transverse shelf along the length of the box spaced closely from the closed bottom of the box, adding a top to the box to close the open-top, adding ends to close the open ends, and inverting the box for installation into a swimming pool.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
28 words
The method of claim 1 said box forming step including forming the box in two independent sections and joining the ends together to form a continuous single box.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
19 words
The method of claim 2 including forming lengthwise spaced slots along the box prior to forming the transverse shelf.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
22 words
The method of claim 3 said step of forming said box including fastening balsa wood rigidifying and flotation plates to the box.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
25 words
The method of claim 1 said step of forming a box including molding fiberglass around continuous balsa wood sheets to form sidewalls of the box.
