Abstract

Abstract A process for drying a mineral containing aqueous protein solution in an atomizing dryer wherein there is added to the drying chamber, during atomization of the solution, a drying agent, in dry solids form, at a concentration between about 1% to about 10% by weight of solids in the solution, allowing the drying atmosphere in the dryer to dry the solids in the atomized solution, and recovering the dried product including the drying agent, the product exhibiting improved physical and chemical properties.
