Abstract

Abstract An arrangement for controlling the electrical bias applied to a bias transfer roller comprising a voltage source coupled to the transfer roller which is variable in response to a control signal, the control signal being generated by sensing the voltage across a sample of the roller material connected in series with a constant current source. Since the resistivity of the sample material varies with changes in humidity, the voltage and the control signal likewise vary with humidity to change the voltage applied to the transfer roller.
