Abstract A MOLDING POWDER SUITABLE FOR MAKING ARTICLES SUCH AS PHONOGRAPH RECORDS IS PREPARED BY SUSPENSION POLYMERIZATION OF VINYL CHLORIDE AND VINYL ACETATE IN THE PRESENCE OF CARBON BLACK AND HEAT-STABILIZER, USING AN AZOTYPE INITIATOR AS THE SOLE INITIATOR. SAID MOLDING POWDER HAS THE ADVANTAGE THAT IS IT USED DIRECTLY FOR MOLDING WITHOUT THE USUAL DUST-ENCUMBERED STEPS OF COMPOUNDING RESIN AND CARBON BLACK AT THE MOLDING SITE.
