Abstract METHODS AND MEANS FOR PRODUCING FOAMED ARTICLES SUCH AS DOLL BODIES WHICH ARE SUBSTANTIALLY SEAMLESS. A LIMITED INTERNAL DISCONTINUITY IS DEFINED DURING THE FOAMING OPERATION, AND STRIPPING OF THE ARTICLE THROUGH A LIMITED OPENING IN A SEAMLESS MOLD PART IS ACCOMPLISHED BY URGING PORTIONS OF THE FOAMED ARTICLE INTO THE INTERNAL DISCONTINUITY, PRESSURIZED GAS IS INTRODUCED BETWEEN THE ARTICLE-FOAMING SURFACES OF THE MOLD CAVITY AND THE FOAMED ARTICLE TO FACILITATE THE STRIPPING OPERATIOM.
