Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 117 words
A method of recharging a storage battery of the wet cell type having a battery case defining a plurality of cells, each cell being provided with a plate assembly and each plate assembly being arranged with the other plate assemblies in a modular unit, the steps comprising removing the electrolyte simultaneously from all cells of the battery, lifting simultaneously all plates of the battery out of the battery case, simultaneously placing recharged plates into the battery case in a modular unit, and simultaneously placing charged electrolyte in the battery case, whereby the recharged plates are simultaneously lowered into the battery case in a modular unit; and the electrolyte is simultaneously replaced in each cell of the battery.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Independent Claim 112 words
A method of recharging a storage batTery of the wet cell type having a battery case defining a plurality of cells, and an electrolyte storage compartment interconnected with each of said cells, each cell being provided with a plate assembly and each plate assembly being arranged with the other plate assemblies in a modular unit, the steps comprising removing the electrolyte simultaneously from all cells of the battery and the storage compartment, lifting simultaneously all plates of the battery out of the battery case, simultaneously placing recharged plates into the battery case in a modular unit, and simultaneously replacing charged electrolyte in each cell and the storage compartment of the battery case.
Claim 4
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 43 words
The method set forth in claim 1 wherein: the electrolyte is pumped from all cells of the battery at the same time through a manifold built in the battery, and whereby the replaced electrolyte is returned to each cell through the same manifold.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 48 words
The method set forth in claim 2 wherein: the electrolyte is pumped from all cells and the storage compartment of the battery case at the same time through a manifold built in the battery, and whereby the replaced electrolyte is returned to each cell through the same manifold.
